Where are they from?
The Blue Lobster originates from New Guinea.
How many can I keep?
Keep on its own as they are territorial or if keeping more than one make sure it is a large aquarium.
What are the ideal water conditions?
Ideal water conditions are a temperature of 18- 25°c, PH 6.5-7.5.
What do you feed them?
They are scavengers so will eat any food that sinks to the bottom.
How compatible is it with other fish?
The Blue Lobster will try and chase fish. Ideally kept in a species tank or keep with fast and larger fish in a large tank. Keep with some hiding places made from rocks, plants and wood.
How do you breed them?
Males have a red tinge on their claws. Once the female has laid the eggs it is a good idea to keep these in a separate tank and they should hatch in around 21 days. Feed the young on frozen foods such as bloodworm and flake food.
