6-7cm

Where are they from?
The Siamese Fighting Fish originated from Thailand and Cambodia. The highly coloured fish available today have been bred for years to produce the flamboyant long fins and deep blues and reds. The males have the long fins while the females have short fins and are less colourful

How many can I keep?
You can only keep one male to a tank as they will fight to the death.

What are the ideal water conditions?
A PH of between 6-8 and temperature of 24-30°c.

What do you feed them?
Feed a varied diet of frozen, freeze dried and flake foods.

How compatible is it with other fish?
Avoid unsuitable companions which will nip their trailing fins.

How do you breed them?
Place a male into a tank on his own, when he is in condition he will build a bubble nest. Next introduce a well condtioned female. The male will embrace the female under the nest. As each egg is laid and fertilized he will blow a bubble around it and put it in the bubble nest. When spawning is finished remove the female and the male will tend the nest.
