Where are they from?
It originates from Argentina, Brazil and Paraquay.

How many can I keep?
The Buenos Aires tetra is a lively hardy shoaling fish which does best in groups of 5 or more.

What are the ideal water conditions?
Will thrive in a wide range of water conditions. Water temperature can be 18-28°c and a PH of between 6-8.

What do you feed them?
They are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. Feed a varied diet of frozen, freeze dried and flake foods.

How compatible is it with other fish?
A hardy shoaling tetra which may show aggression towards smaller more timid species, Ideal for the more boisterous community tank.

How do you breed them?
Males are slimmer and more colourful. Easy to breed. Condition the fish and place in breeding tank. At a temperature of 24-28°c spawning takes place over plants. Eggs will hatch between 20-36 hours.
