Where are they from?
The Clown Loach originates from Sumatra and Borneo, Indonesia

How many can I keep?
A very popular fish with both the novice and experienced fish keeper. Best kept in groups of 3 or more.

What are the ideal water conditions?
Ideal water conditions are acidic to medium alkaline, soft to medium water. This fish can be prone to white spot, so is best kept in a mature tank with a temperature of at least 25°c. Can be sensitive to some treatments, always check the label before using any medication.

What do you feed them?
They are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. Feed a varied diet of frozen, freeze dried, and flake foods.

How compatible is it with other fish?
A peaceful community fish, occasionally boisterous.

How do you breed them?
Spawning is probably impossible in the home aquarium. In the wild they breed only once a year at the start of the rainy season.
