What are the ideal water conditions?
Ideal water conditions are moderately hard with a temperature of 22-28°c. PH 7.5-8.8.

What do you feed them?
Feed plenty of algae based foods including flake and pellets.

How compatible is it with other fish?
This beautiful Mauna Cichlid can be aggressive so it is important you provide plenty of rocks for hiding places. Keep with tank mates of a similar disposition and size.

How do you breed them?
Males will develop a hump with age and have more egg spots which are more prominent. Provide a water temperature of 26-28°c and a PH of 8-8.8. These cichlids are easy to breed, keep 3 or 4 females to one male. Up to 50-60 eggs are laid and the females will brood the eggs for approximately 20-24 days. Feed fry on newly hatched brine shrimp and daphnia.
