How many can I keep?
The Emperor Tetra is a peaceful shoaling fish which does best in groups of 4 or more.

What are the ideal water conditions?
 Ideal water conditions are slightly acidic to neutral soft water. Temperature 22-28°c. PH 6 - 7.5

What do you feed them?
They are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. Feed a varied diet of frozen, freeze dried and flake foods.

How compatible is it with other fish?
A peaceful community fish. See tank mates.

How do you breed them?
The male has a long extension to the dorsal fin and a long central spike to the caudal fin. Not a prolific breeder. It scatters eggs over fine plants but is not easy to spawn. Place a well conditioned pair in a breeding tank at 28°c and very soft water with a PH of 7.
