What is its maximum size?
100cm in the wild, not usually more than 50cm in the home aquarium unless provided with a very large aquarium.

Where are they from?
The Fire Eel originates from India, Borneo, Malaysia, Burma, Thailand.

What are the ideal water conditions?
Ideal water conditions are a PH of 6-7.5 and temperature of 24-27c. Keep with a substrate of fine gravel or sand and hiding places such as a plastic pipe with plenty of plants.

What do you feed them?
Feed on live food, bloodworm, river shrimp or brineshrimp. Will accept frozen food and can be trained to eat flake food and pellets.

How compatible is it with other fish?
Peaceful but will eat small fish.
