What is its maximum size?
7cm

Where are they from?
The Tiger barb originates from Indonesia- Sumatra and Borneo. All the tiger barbs available are farm bred and will adapt to most water parameters. This includes the Albino and Green Tiger Barbs which are tank bred colours

How many can I keep?
Tiger barbs are boisterious and need to be kept in a large group of at least six fish to avoid them harassing other tank mates.

What are the ideal water conditions?
Ideal water conditions are slightly acidic to neutral but this hardy shoaling fish will adapt to most water parameters.

What do you feed them?
They are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. Feed a varied diet of frozen, freeze dried and flake foods.

How compatible is it with other fish?
A boisterious fish that needs to be kept with other fish of a similar nature or larger robust fish.

How do you breed them?
Males are slimmer with more intense colour. The females scatter the eggs over plants to which they stick or are allowed to fall to the bottom. The eggs are fertilized by the pursuing group of males.
