Where are they from?

They originate from Rio Xingu Brazil.

What are the ideal water conditions?

Ideal water conditions are a temperature range of 26-29c. PH 6-7.5.

What do you feed them?

As with other plecos it is well known for it’s algae eating. It will eat other foods but will spend most of it’s time grazing on the algae throughout the tank including the glass. While considered a herbivore, in the aquarium they will eat any food that drops to the bottom of the tank.

How compatible is it with other fish?

Peaceful, suitable for any community tank.

How do you breed them?

Adult males have prominent odontodal growth on body plates, cheeks and pectoral spines.Not known to breed in the aquarium.
