15cm The Red Rainbow is a stunning fish when adult. Males develop a deep red colour and deep body with high fins. Females are torpedo shaped and a olive/silver colour. Where are they from?
The Red Rainbow originates from New Guinea although all the Red Rainbow available today are farm bred.
How many can I keep?
Best kept in groups of 3 or more.

What do you feed them?
They are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. Feed a varied diet of frozen, freeze dried, and flake.
How compatible is it with other fish?
A peaceful active fish well suited to a community aquarium of larger fish.
How do you breed them?
The Red Rainbow are fairly easy to breed, they need a temperature of 25c. The fish will spawn over dense plants or spawning mops. Eggs hatch after 6-8 days, feed the fry on infusoria
