Where are they from?
The Red Tail Catfish is native to South America at the Amazon Basin. In South America and in Thailand where it is farm bred the Red Tail Cat is used as a game fish.

What are the ideal water conditions?
Ideal water conditions are a temperature between 21-26°c. PH 6.5-7.5.

What do you feed them?
Feed a varied diet of live and frozen meaty food and dried food such as catfish pellets.

How compatible is it with other fish?
Peaceful when small but has to be housed with fish of a similar size. This fish will grow large; eventually it will need a very large tank to itself.
