The Silver Tip Tetra originate from East and West Brazil, the River Sao Francisco and the tributaries of the River Purus.

A hardy ideal fish for the novice fish keeper. best kept in a shoal of 5 or more.

The ideal conditions are slightly acidic to neutral, soft to hard. All the fish available today are farm bred and will adapt to a wide range of water parameters.

They are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. Feed a varied diet of frozen, freeze dried and flake foods.

A hardy and peaceful addition to the community aquarium.See tank mates.
How do you breed them?
Will produce about 300 eggs. if left with the eggs parents will eat them. Feed hatched fry newly hatched brine shrimp.
