The Threadfin Rainbow is from Northern Austrailia, Western New Guinea and Indonesia.

Best kept in groups of 5 or more.
What are the ideal water conditions?
Ideal water conditions are slightly acidic to neutral with a temperature of 22-27°c and a PH of 6.5-7.5.
What do you feed them?
They are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. Feed a varied diet of frozen, freeze dried, and flake.
How compatible is it with other fish?
It is ideal for a peaceful community aquarium but should not be kept with more boisterious fish such as barbs.
How do you breed them?
The males have long threads extending from their dorsal and anal fins. They scatter adhesive eggs among fine leaved plants. Remove the parents and then feed the fry on infusoria for the first two weeks followed by newly hatched brine shrimp.
