It is reasonably hardy and easy to care for.

8-10cm
 
Where are they from?
They originate from the Kikori and Puizari Rivers in New Guinea.
 
How many can I keep?
They will do best kept in groups.
 
What are the ideal water conditions?
Ideal water conditions would be a temperature range of 20-26c and a PH of 6.5-7.5.
 
What do you feed them?
They will eat a variety of foods. Feed a varied diet of frozen, freeze dried and flake foods with some vegetable matter.
 
How compatible is it with other fish?
The Yellow Rainbow is a community fish and is ideal for the larger community set up.
 
How do you breed them?
The Yellow Rainbow is a plant spawner, if you do not keep plants you could use a spawning mop. Remove the spawning mop once the fish have spawned as they will eat the eggs. Fry will hatch in 10-14 days, feed with infusoria.
