Tetras
The term Tetra covers a multitude of small characins from both South America and Africa. They are some of the most popular, peaceful and beautiful fish in the hobby.
In the wild they come from both white and blackwater streams. The streams are usually shallow but they are also found in rivers. Many of the tetras are carnivores feeding on insects or mosquito larvae. Most tetra are best kept in shoals of six or more.
Most of the tetra available are farm bred and adapt to a wide range of water parameters and are suitable for both the beginner and experienced aquarists alike.
A few of the varieties offered can be wild caught, Cardinals-Rummynose- Bleeding Hearts-Gold Tetra, with these varieties you should wait until your tank is mature before adding them.
