The Columbia Tetra originates from the Sao francisco River in Eastern Brazil.

Best kept in groups.

Ideal conditions are a pH between 6.5-7 and a temperature of 22-28°c
What do you feed them?
They are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. Feed a varied diet of frozen, freeze dried and flake foods.
How compatible is it with other fish?
This peaceful fish should be housed with non aggressive tank mates.
How do you breed them?
The male has a larger dorsal fin and is dark grey with black fins. Given a varied diet they will come into breeding condition. The will breed if kept in soft acidic conditions with subdued lighting. Feed fry on infusoria and newly hatched brine shrimp.
