Where are they from?
The Head and Tail Light Tetra originates from the Guianas and Northern Amazon Basin. All the fish available are farm bred.

What are the ideal water conditions?
Ideal water conditions are slightly acidic to neutral soft water. Temperature 22-28c. PH 6 – 7.5
What do you feed them?
They are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. Feed a varied diet of frozen, freeze dried and flake foods.
How compatible is it with other fish?
A hardy and peaceful addition to the community aquarium, it will adapt to a wide range of water parameters. See tank mates.
How do you breed them?
One of the easiest characins to breed. In males the silvery swimbladder is more pointed, in the female it is rounded. Place the fish in soft acidic water, they will scatter their eggs over fine leaved plants. Feed fry on newly hatched brine shrimp.
