Helostoma Temminckii

The novelty of this species is seeing the fish kissing, although this is a trial of strength to determine the pecking order and has nothing to do with romance.
How hard are they to keep?
We would class this fish as an easy care level.
What is its maximum size?
In the wild this fish can reach 30cm but is most likely to reach about 8cm.
Where are they from?
In it’s wild green form it originated from Burma, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. The majority of the kissing gourami you see today are the pink form developed in Java.

They are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. Feed a varied diet of frozen, freeze dried and flake foods. The Kissing Gourami relish algae and it is important to include green foods in their diet.

It is impossible to tell the sexes apart.
