Black Widow Tetra (Gymnocorymbus Ternetzi)
The Black Widow is also known as the Black Skirt Tetra. Young fish are jet black, this fades to a dusky grey as the fish matures.

Where are they from?
This hardy South American Tetra is a peaceful shoaling fish. All the fish available are farm bred and can be kept in a wide range of water parameters.
How many can I keep?
Best kept in groups of 4 or more.
What are the ideal water conditions?
Ideal water conditions are slightly acidic to neutral soft water. Temperature 22-28°c. PH 6 – 7.5
What do you feed them?
They are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. Feed a varied diet of frozen, freeze dried and flake foods.
How compatible is it with other fish?
A peaceful community fish. See tank mates.
How do you breed them?
Females are slightly larger than the males. They are easy to breed and as with most tetras they scatter eggs over fine plants.
