Clownfish or anemonefish have become popular saltwater fish for the home aquarium. Made popular by the film Finding Nemo, they are among the most recognised reef fish in the world. These brightly coloured marine fish live in the warm waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. They feed on algae, plankton, and small crustaceans.

Clownfish have a unique relationship with sea anemones. They live safely among the anemone's stinging tentacles while helping protect and clean their host. They are also known for their remarkable ability to change sex; with the dominant male able to become female if the breeding female dies.

Many clownfish are now tank bred, rather than wild caught and make for hardier aquarium inhabitants.
