What is its maximum size?
The Feather Duster Worm can grow to approximately 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) across, including its beautiful feather-like feeding crown, although size varies depending on the species.
Where is its origin?
Feather Duster Worms are found throughout tropical and subtropical marine environments worldwide.
They are commonly found around Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Australia and various Pacific islands.
Is it reef compatible?
Yes. Feather Duster Worms are considered completely reef safe and are excellent additions to peaceful marine and reef aquariums.
However, care should be taken when housing them with fish and invertebrates that may pick at or consume their delicate feeding crowns.
What should I feed it?
The Feather Duster Worm is a filter feeder that naturally feeds on phytoplankton, zooplankton and fine organic particles suspended in the water column.
In the aquarium, it benefits from regular access to appropriately sized suspended foods.
How many can I keep?
Feather Duster Worms are peaceful and can generally be kept in groups.
